Hillsdale College to Honor Susan Cervini at 64th Annual Alumni Awards Banquet

October 23, 2015 – Hillsdale, Mich.

Hillsdale College will honor Susan Cervini as a distinguished honorary alumna at its 64th Annual Alumni Awards Banquet today at the Searle Center on Hillsdale’s campus. For more than 30 years, Cervini has belonged to the Hillsdale Garden Club and the Hillsdale Women’s Club, which support scholarships at Hillsdale College.

Her husband, John, is vice president for Institutional Advancement at Hillsdale College. Together, they have entertained thousands of College friends at events and seminars across the country and host dozens of College supporters at their home during the Hillsdale Hostel programs and other gatherings.

“Susan has played an integral part in the Hillsdale College community for many years,” said Grigor Hasted, director of Alumni Development. “Her longstanding friendship and outreach on behalf of the College has benefitted our students, friends, and alumni. We are grateful for all she has done to help both the students and the Hillsdale College community as a whole.”

“This award means a great deal to me,” Cervini said. “I’ve always felt a part of this college, and now I feel even more a part of it because of this award. Thank you to Hillsdale College from the bottom of my heart.”

Cervini is a graduate of Northwood University and has served as president and committee member of the Hillsdale College Women’s Club, as secretary of the board for Kids Need Moms to promote interaction between incarcerated mothers and their children, and as a vestry member of Holy Trinity Parish. Additionally, Cervini volunteers at many other college events, including the Women Commissioners’ Rummage Sale and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) track meets.

Lloyd Bond (’64), Will Dunham (’07), and Daniel Wisner (’55) will also be honored at the Alumni Awards Banquet.
