Hillsdale College Tower Players Presents “Hamlet”
HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Hillsdale College Tower Players opened its production of William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” on Nov. 15. The play, which is directed by Professor of Theatre James Brandon, runs through Nov. 19 in Markel Auditorium.
“Hamlet,” one of Shakespeare’s most celebrated tragedies, weaves a tale of moral complexity, revenge, and political intrigue as the titular character grapples with the burdens of avenging his father’s murder.
“Producing a classic like ‘Hamlet’ takes a great deal of dedication, commitment, and an understanding of the text, characters, and emotions that come with a Shakespearean tragedy,” Brandon said. “From onstage actors to stagehands, each person contributed to bringing this show to life, and I am so appreciative of their efforts in creating a powerful performance that portrays the complexity and timelessness of the piece.”
Hamlet has upcoming shows on Friday, Nov. 17 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 19 at 2 p.m.
