Hillsdale College Tower Players Produce “Henry V” by William Shakespeare
HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Hillsdale College Tower Players opened a unique production of “Henry V” by William Shakespeare on Wednesday, Nov. 10. The production will run in the College’s Markel Auditorium through Nov. 14.
“I’m thrilled to bring Shakespeare’s ‘Henry V’ to Hillsdale, as this is the first time Tower Players is presenting one of his history plays,” said Christopher Matsos, director and assistant professor of theatre. “I hope audiences will be intrigued by our take on the play, where the role of Henry is shared by almost half the cast to illustrate the changes he goes through in his trials.”
“Henry V” brings to the stage the battle of Agincourt during the Hundred Years’ War between England and France. The College’s production features battles by fight choreographer Caitlyn Grace, ’12, and original live music by Patrick Murphy, ’20.
The production is two hours long with a 10-minute intermission.
There are upcoming shows on Thursday, Nov. 11, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 12, at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 13, at 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. Ticket reservations are required. Contact [email protected] or call (517) 607-2848.
