Hillsdale College Volleyball Claims Fifth G-MAC Volleyball Championship
Hillsdale wins championship in home arena with three-set victory over the University of Findlay
Hillsdale, Mich. – Hillsdale College congratulates the Chargers volleyball team on its performance at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Volleyball Championship, hosted at the Dawn Tibbetts Potter Arena. The team won back-to-back games against Lake Erie College and the University of Findlay, making them conference tournament champions for the second year in a row and earning the program its fifth conference championship overall.
In addition to winning the conference, the Chargers received numerous honors at the banquet that preceded the championship games at the Dow Conference Center. The team was recognized as the regular season West Division champion, six Charger players were selected for the all-conference team and Hillsdale senior Paige VanderWall was named Great Midwest Player of the Year for the second year in a row.
The Chargers’ conference championship victory gave them an automatic qualifying bid into the NCAA Division II National Tournament for the 11th time in the program’s history, where they ultimately fell against Drury University, concluding the 2018 season with a 25-7 record.
