Hillsdale College Welcomes Two New Trustees to Its Board

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College announces the addition of two new members to its Board of Trustees: David R. Hough and Nersi Nazari.

“The Hillsdale College Board of Trustees has been in continuous operation for 177 years,” said Rich Péwé, vice president for administration and secretary to the Board. “These new members will continue to build on Hillsdale’s long legacy of providing a liberal arts education outstanding among American universities.”

David R. Hough is a private practice psychotherapist who specializes in work with terminally ill adults and children on grief therapy and marriage and family therapy. He holds a master’s degree in clinical social work from Wayne State University, a master’s degree in divinity from McCormick Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy and religion from MacMurray College. Hough has served in the Presbyterian ministry and is the president of the Hough Foundation of Michigan. Hough was named an honorary alumnus of Hillsdale College in 2016. He is married to Bonnie Joy (Mandy) Hough, ’82. Hough and Bonnie have a son, Trevor, a daughter, Hilary Mandy (Hough) Romkey, ’10, and five adored grandchildren.

Nersi Nazari is a philanthropist and the founder and executive chairman of Vital Connect Inc. His company developed advanced technology to monitor patients in and out of the hospital setting. The widespread use of this technology has helped save many lives during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as from other diseases. Nazari has more than 10 published technical papers and 12 patents. His foundation, the Hasbun Nazari Charitable Fund, supports various charities worldwide with an emphasis on child education and welfare, healthcare, and public policy. He received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Colorado in 1987.
