HILLSDALE, Mich. — Mollie Hemingway, senior journalism fellow at Hillsdale College, joined Byron York for a live taping of The Byron York Show on June 15 at the Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center in Washington, D.C. They discussed “The 2022 Election: The Status of Election Integrity in America and What the Republicans Should Do if they Win.” This event was co-sponsored by Ricochet, a conservative audio-on-demand service.

The episode began with Hemingway and York discussing President Biden’s approval ratings. Hemingway described the reason behind the low ratings, saying “Joe Biden is not a particularly unlikable guy. It’s not that people are unfavorable toward him and his personality, it’s that they really hate the policies of the party.”

Hemingway and York also analyzed the high inflation currently affecting Americans. “It’s not just inflation, right? General economic malaise … foreign policy problems, border problems, crime that is rampant, civil unrest … It just feels like the country is falling apart,” said Hemingway. “And he’s blaming everyone but himself.”

York also asked Hemingway for her opinion on primary elections, the 2024 presidential election, and the Jan. 6 Committee. After the taping concluded, the audience engaged in a Q&A discussion with York and Hemingway.

Byron York is the chief political correspondent for the Washington Examiner, a Fox News contributor, and host of The Byron York Show podcast. He has covered the Bush, Obama, Trump, and Biden administrations, as well as Congress and presidential campaigns. He is the author of “The Vast LeftWing Conspiracy” and “Obsession.”
