HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College’s national radio show and podcast, “The Radio Free Hillsdale Hour,” surpassed one million downloads in 2022. The final tally of 1.2 million is an increase of nearly three times the number of downloads garnered in 2020.

“We are so pleased the program continues to see sustained growth, with more than 35 radio stations currently airing the show,” said Scot Bertram, host of “The Radio Free Hillsdale Hour” and lecturer in journalism at Hillsdale College. “The show is a great way to share the ideas discussed here at Hillsdale College with a larger audience, and we look forward to an even bigger 2023.”

Each show is approximately one-hour long and features multiple guests, including Hillsdale faculty members, college campus speakers, noted writers, thinkers, and alumni. Topics include anything from the politics of the day to discussions of liberal education to American foreign policy. Distinguished guests have included Victor Davis Hanson, Mark Levin, Dennis Prager, Byron York, and Senators Tom Cotton and Mike Lee.

“The program features great content and is available for free — both as a podcast and as programming for local radio stations. That contributes to its success,” said Bertram. “If you work at a station and are interested in bringing “The Radio Free Hillsdale Hour” to your listeners, let us know. If you want to hear the show on your favorite local radio station, encourage them to contact us. We’re glad to help.”

Radio stations that have recently added the program to their weekend lineup include KAOX-FM 107.9 in Idaho Falls, WTAW-AM 1620 and 94.5 FM in Bryan/College Station (Texas), and WRKJ-FM 88.5 in Portland (Maine). “The Radio Free Hillsdale Hour” is available on a market-exclusive basis at no cost and with no barter required. The show is available via the Salem Radio Network and can be acquired from the Westwood One XDS, Salem XDS-IP, or via manual/FTP download.
