Ranking Member Steve Womack on Rep. Bill Flores’ Retirement
WASHINGTON, D.C., Sept. 5, 2019 — Today, House Budget Committee Ranking Member Steve Womack (R-AR) released the following statement after yesterday’s announcement by Rep. Bill Flores (R-TX) of his intention to retire at the completion of his current term in Congress:
“Congressman Bill Flores has served his country and the people of Texas’ 17th District with the utmost dignity and professionalism for the last 9 years. As a dedicated public servant, he has used his voice to fight for the American people and advocate for fiscal responsibility on the Budget Committee. His leadership will be greatly missed in Washington. It has been a privilege to serve beside him – and even a greater honor to call him a friend. I wish Representative Flores, Gina, and his children and grandchildren all the best as they embark on their next chapter,” said Womack.
