Blake Center Hosts Somers Rotary Club for Charitable Concert

HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Rotary Club of Somers, Connecticut, sponsored a charitable concert at Hillsdale College’s Blake Center for Faith and Freedom on July 23. Proceeds from the concert were donated to the Connecticut Burns Care Foundation.

Hillsdale College Blake Center for Faith and Freedom Hosts Classical Learning Consortium Conference

HILLSDALE, Mich. — In partnership with Kepler Education, the Classical Learning Consortium for New England held a conference at Hillsdale College’s Blake Center for Faith and Freedom in Somers, Connecticut between July 15 and July 16. The conference launched the Classical Learning Consortium for New England and drew approximately 75 educators and administrations from the region.

Blake Center for Faith and Freedom Hosts Somers Rotary Club Meeting

The Rotary Club of Somers, Connecticut, held one of its monthly meetings at the Blake Center for Faith and Freedom on March 2. Approximately 30 club members visited the Monticello replica on the Blake Center campus. Leaders from the East Longmeadow, Mass., Rotary club were also in attendance.

Hillsdale College’s Blake Center for Faith and Freedom Hosts First Somers Seminar: “Religious Liberty and the American Founding”

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College hosted the first of two Somers Seminars this spring at its Blake Center for Faith and Freedom in Somers, Connecticut, on April 29-30. The seminar topic was “Religious Liberty and the American Founding.” Matthew Spalding, vice president of Washington operations and dean of the Van Andel Graduate School of Government, spoke on the origins of religious liberty.

Labin Duke Named Executive Director of the Blake Center for Faith and Freedom

Somers, Conn. — Hillsdale College is pleased to announce that Labin Duke will serve as the first executive director of the Blake Center for Faith and Freedom. With more than 10 years of experience working for non-profit, Christian organizations, Duke will guide the College’s religious, educational, and outreach efforts in Somers, Connecticut.

Hillsdale College Moves Forward with New Center for Faith and Freedom

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College has received final approval to use several properties in Somers, Connecticut, to establish the Blake Center for Faith and Freedom. The Somers Zoning Commission agreed with the College that the College is a religious institution and that its plans for the Somers properties constitute religious-institutional uses protected by state, federal, and constitutional law.
