Hillsdale College Choirs Perform at Christ Chapel

HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Hillsdale College Choir and Chamber Choir performed their annual fall concert on Nov. 12 at Christ Chapel. Hillsdale College faculty, staff, students, and friends attended the concert, which was directed by Visiting Professor Brad Holmes.

Springfield Armory to Fund Scholarship for Hillsdale Action Shooting Team

HILLSDALE, Mich. — American commercial firearms manufacturer Springfield Armory recently agreed to a four-year commitment to fund remitted scholarships for members of the Hillsdale College Action Shooting Team. The company also supplies the team with all of their firearms, which includes their XD-M Elites and Prodigy firearms.

Hillsdale College’s Anna Vincenzi Receives Emily Daugherty Award for Teaching Excellence

HILLSDALE, Mich. — The 2023 Emily Daugherty Award for Teaching Excellence was presented to Anna Vincenzi, assistant professor of history. Faculty, students, and friends of Hillsdale College recognized Vincenzi at Fall Convocation on Nov. 16.

Halter Center Hosts Halloween Clay Shoot and Exhibition

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College’s John Anthony Halter Shooting Sports Education Center hosted the Halter Pumpkin Smash on Oct. 31. The two-hour event featured an opportunity for shooters of all ages to participate in clay shooting and watch a Halloween-themed shooting exhibition by members of the US national team and the Hillsdale College Shotgun team. For the exhibition, these professional and collegiate shooters took aim at nothing other than catapulted pumpkins.

Hillsdale College Music Department Welcomes Jazz Trio

HILLSDALE, Mich. — On November 17, the Hillsdale College music department showcased jazz trio TrioGram at Conrad Recital Hall. The ensemble performed tracks from their eponymous album, with a particular emphasis on the evolution of “next generation” modern jazz.

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College hosted New York Post columnist Miranda Devine as the college’s fall 2023 Eugene C. Pulliam distinguished visiting fellow in journalism from Oct. 26 to Nov. 1. Devine is the author of the bestselling book “Laptop from Hell: Hunter Biden, Big Tech, and the Dirty Secrets the President Tried to Hide.”

Hillsdale College Presents Opera Workshop Performances

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College student vocalists presented scenes from various operas on Oct. 28 in the McNamara Rehearsal Hall. The Opera Workshop performances featured music by Mozart, Donizetti, Puccini, and others, and was open to students, their families, faculty, staff, and members of the community.
