Guest Musician Tony Monaco Performs at Hillsdale College

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Tony Monaco, a master of the Hammond B-3 organ, performed a jazz concert at Hillsdale College in Plaster Auditorium on March 22 with members of the Hillsdale College music faculty Lori Lefevré, Larry Ochiltree, and Chris McCourry. Students, faculty, staff, and members of the Hillsdale community attended the concert.

HILLSDALE, Mich. — On November 17, the Hillsdale College music department showcased jazz trio TrioGram at Conrad Recital Hall. The ensemble performed tracks from their eponymous album, with a particular emphasis on the evolution of “next generation” modern jazz.

African Percussionist Mark Stone Performs with Percussion Ensemble at Hillsdale College

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Expert in African percussion Mark Stone performed with Artist Teacher of Music and Director of Jazz Ensembles Chris McCourry, Artist Teacher of Music Stacey Jones, and the Hillsdale Percussion Ensemble at Hillsdale College on October 13. The performance was held in Plaster Auditorium and was attended by Hillsdale College students, faculty, and staff members, along with members of the local community.

Organist Craig Cramer Performs at Hillsdale College

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Organist Craig Cramer performed in Hillsdale College’s Christ Chapel on Oct. 14. Cramer’s performance included work by Bach, Buxtehude, Zahnbrecher, Smyth, and Fauchard.

Trumpeter Andrew Balio and Organist Bruce Bengtson Perform at Hillsdale College

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Principal Trumpet at the Baltimore Symphony and Founder of the Future Symphony Institute Andrew Balio and organist Bruce Bengtson performed at Hillsdale College on September 9. The performance, which included original transcriptions of J.S. Bach, was held in Christ Chapel and attended by Hillsdale College students, faculty, and staff members, along with members of the local community.

Hillsdale College Chapel Choir Releases Choral Evensong Semester Schedule

HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Hillsdale College Chapel Choir has announced the date of its fall semester Choral Evensong performances. The choir will be led by Professor Timothy McDonnell. All performances will be held in Hillsdale College’s Christ Chapel and are open to Hillsdale College faculty, staff, students, and the local community.
