Hillsdale College Music Department Hosts Annual Student Concerto/Aria Competition

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College’s Music Department hosted the 2023 annual Student Concerto/Aria Competition on Feb. 5. Students participating in the competition performed solo pieces for a panel of judges in Markel Auditorium, and four students were selected to perform with the Hillsdale College Symphony Orchestra.

Hillsdale College Sees Surge in Applications

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College has seen a more than 53% increase in applications over the past decade. Additionally, the yield rate — the percentage of admitted students who chose to enroll — has reached a new record of 62%. Even with increased selectivity, the college looks for more than high test scores when recruiting students. Hillsdale College continues to seek those who are academically serious, possess strong moral character, and are willing to work together in pursuit of the college’s mission.

Hillsdale College Announces Second Cohort for Kehoe Family Initiative for Entrepreneurial Excellence

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College announces the new cohort of Kehoe Family Initiative for Entrepreneurial Excellence Student Fellows. The fellowship is a five-semester program for Hillsdale College students who aim to join the free market as entrepreneurs after they graduate. Sophomores of all majors were invited to apply during the fall 2022 semester.

Hillsdale College Announces New Walter Williams Chair in Free Market Economics

Michael Driscoll Presents Doctoral Research

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College doctoral student Michael Driscoll gave a presentation titled “Could They Be Happier: Law, Morality, and Happiness in the Political Thought of John Locke” on Nov. 10. Driscol gave the presentation after he successfully defended his doctoral dissertation before a panel of Van Andel Graduate School of Statesmanship faculty members, including his dissertation director, Thomas G. Hillsdale College’s Julio Suarez Receives Emily Daugherty Award for Teaching Excellence
